 A Reef Journey with the Cruise Whitsunday’s Master Reef Guides 

Exclusive to the Great Barrier Reef Festival, this tour provides a boutique, intimate reef encounter for all those aboard on Cruise Whitsunday’s ‘Heart Pontoon’. This is an amazing experience where guests will benefit from the knowledge and passion from host of our global treasure’s most ardent ambassadors.

Activities led by the Master Reef Guides will include the usual snorkel safaris, semi-submersible adventures, Eye On The Reef monitoring experiences and in-water photography sessions together with a host of additional activities listed below.

If you are passionate about the Great Barrier Reef this is a hands on learning experience like no other, ensuring a personal experience where you ask all your questions, they will guide you through the activities – you will truly be ‘learning from the masters’.

This full day tour explores the World Heritage-listed wonder off the Queensland coast, journeying through the lush Whitsunday Islands – its whale season too so watch out for migrating Humpback Whales on the way. Underwater is where the magic happens though, incredible amounts of bright tropical fish and more than 1,400 species of coral await you.

The Heart Pontoon multilevel reef facility is permanently moored 39 nautical miles from shore at spectacular Hardy Reef. Snorkel, swim, dive and explore – an undersea encounter with this amazing ecosystem is unforgettable.

If you are not a water baby and would rather stay dry you can still experience the reef from the underwater observatory, or take a ride in a semi-submarine. After a sumptuous buffet lunch, you’ll have more time to explore before you head back to shore with lifelong memories of this epic Australian icon!
