Immerse Art Installations

Date: 04/08/2023 - 06/08/2023
Time: All Day
Location: Airlie Beach Foreshore, Airlie Beach, QLD, 4802

Creating an underwater marine wonderland

Immerse yourself in the beauty of the Great Barrier Reef, join us at our newest addition ‘IMMERSE – WHITSUNDAYS’, an underwater art installation under the monumental fig tree on Airlie Beach Foreshore.

The Immerse Whitsundays Art Installation can be viewed Friday – Sunday Night

Created by local artists, the installation is a combination of sculptured reef creatures and corals made from recycled plastic and marine debris, plus animated projections to bring the display to life!

A huge thankyou to art facilitators, Donna Maree Robinson and Margaret Burgess Art. Shout out to artist Anita Pender, Brigitte Peel & Liz Knight from Positive Creations Glass Art, and Art Director Margie Murphy.

Sculpture workshops will be held prior to the event, hosted by the festival team. Adults and kids can join in and make their own sculptures on:

  • Thursday 6th July – 3 Little Birds Creative Hub
  • Friday 7th July – Proserpine Community Centre
  • Sunday 23rd July  – Cannonvale State School Fete
