Airlie Beach Foreshore comes alive!

Join us for one of the most anticipated nights of the Great Barrier Reef Festival as we welcome Fireworks on the Foreshore 2026 sponsored by AirBnB. It’s an unforgettable evening of culture, entertainment, food, and fireworks by the sea! Fireworks start at 8:30!

The night begins as the Lantern Parade makes its way from Coral Sea Marina, lighting up the boardwalk and bringing a wave of colour and creativity to the foreshore. As the glowing procession arrives, the Welcome to Country will officially open the evening, before live entertainment begins on the Foreshore Stage.

As dusk deepens, ‘Immerse’, our spectacular reef-inspired art installation, will begin to glow, bringing the underwater world to life through colourful, illuminated sculptures made from recycled marine debris. It’s a breathtaking visual experience not to be missed.

As the sun sets over Airlie Beach, the foreshore transforms into a vibrant hub of entertainment, flavour, and family fun.

• Roving performers and pop-up entertainment will delight festivalgoers of all ages
• Night markets will line the foreshore with stalls showcasing locally made art, gifts and other treasures
• Whitsunday Foodservice Eat Street, will tempt your tastebuds with an array of street food favourites, gourmet bites, sweet treats; served by local food trucks and pop-up eateries.
• Carnival rides in the lagoon car park

Beach Vibes

Over on the Main Stage, live music kicks off at 6:00 PM, featuring a vibrant mix of local and guest artists. Access to the foreshore is FREE, but a small cover charge applies for entry to the licensed bar area, with access to stage entertainment, stage-side seating, and front-row views of the fireworks.
